Abdul has over twenty years’ experience as a community health and human service professional locally and internationally. He has overseen quality improvement initiatives in schools and community settings to promote human development, equity, and healthy. He has worked with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic approach to health and community development during emergency and development context in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Mozambique. In 2014, Abdul co-facilitated two pre-conference workshops on participatory methods and youth-focused evaluation for the American Evaluation Association. Abdul’s focus is on eliminating poverty and inequality through rights-based approaches targeting women, youth, and marginalized populations. Abdul served as Secretary General for Concerned Mothers/Parents Association a woman’s Community Based Organization in Sierra Leone and facilitated the formation of a Youth Development Division which became a useful channel for Heath Promotion and fund raising for small-scale self-help projects for community empowerment and development. He still serves as the strategic planning adviser for the organization with the aim of adapting its role and promote an inclusive community development. Abdul holds a Diploma for Public Health Superintendent from the National School of Hygiene in Sierra Leone and a Master of Science degree in International Primary Health Care from the University of London with a focus on Quality Assurance and Service Development.
